Independent Collective School is Sri Lanka's first formal modern alternative school, delivering a modern education to students from age of 2 years to 18 years with emphasis on identity and skill building to prepare for the AI future.   

Our mission is to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity, to empower our students to thrive in a fast changing world, while delivering a world class education, underpinned by Cambridge Curriculum and Assessments. 

We are dedicated to creating a space where children can explore their passions, develop essential skills, and cultivate a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. An education that will serve them for their whole lives, from school to the workplace and beyond. 

As the first school of its kind in Sri Lanka, we are excited to be bringing forth a much needed educational revolution by creating a learning space that is truly child-centered and free of any kind of systemic oppression. 

We are bringing the power back to the student, to the parents, to the family and to the community. As a school, we strive to empower those in our students’ orbits, rather than seek to hold power ourselves. With our co-creative and collaborative principles, we aim to provide a holistic education that encompasses not only academic growth but also social, emotional and physical development for our students.
