Extra curricular pursuits

Facilitated by one of the most experienced and talented vocal coaches in Sri Lanka, the ICS choir is for all ages, trilingual and aimed at developing confident use of voice, performance skills and musical skills. 

An absolute must when it comes to a childhood, ICS offers dance practice in Kandyan, Low country, Bharatanatyam and Bollywood. Other styles to be added as per demand. 

Opportunity for students to engage in physical theatre and explore expression and performance, with outstanding professional performers and academics in the field. 

Starting with Kandyan and Low country drums, ICS plans to expand the portfolio of musical provision as per demand from students. 

From origami to knitting to jewellery making to weaving and leather work, there is an endless number of craft disciplines for ICS students to explore. With periodical workshops with real masters to in-house projects, they can explore many different avenues. 

Supported by graduates of University of Colombo and professional artists of different genres, ICS students of all ages can explore creativity and expression via the visual arts. 

Its never too early to learn the power of language, so ICS students can engage in workshops to enhance these skills.

A vastly complex skill that requires skill in not just music but also electronics, this is a great opportunity for young minds to explore how science and art connect, in fun and engaging setting. 

With expert guidance from experienced industry professionals ICS students can try their hand at different disciplines in sewing and fashion design. 

A key skill to develop for the present and the future, ICS students can learn and master design skills.

Conducted by a very experienced organisation, ICS students will be able to engage with  the wonders of the universe. 

In partnership with one of Sri Lanka's leading STEM education providers, ICS students will be able to explore the world of robotics, coding, engineering, mechanics and so much more. 

ICS has partnered with Duolingo, the largest provider of app-based language learning in the world, to bring access to 43 languages to ICS students. 

ICS is committed to developing key skills, such as public speaking, in all our students, and will be delivering workshops to enhance and finetune these skills. 

While the traditional "debate" club maybe popular with traditional schools, ICS feels that the speaking to win element of debating is a missed opportunity to foster positive communication skills, with active listening and empathy at the core. 

ICS will work with students and parents to create safe and rewarding volunteering opportunities.

As an eco-conscious school, ICS has a very strong environmental agenda, and so all our students are encouraged to take part in Eco-Club to design, discuss and activate solutions to eco-issues
